Based on true events, Pride is the inspiring story of Jim Ellis, a charismatic schoolteacher in the 1970s who changed lives forever when he founded an African-American swim team in one of Philadelphia’s roughest neighborhoods. This film shows how one ordinary person can change an entire community by instilling a sense of hope and purpose within the lives of the neighborhood kids.

I used this clip for a sermon on breaking cycles, and one of the cycles was called "mediocrity". Laziness has become a curse on our generation largely in part to the fact that we've been taught to just show up and play, no practice, no effort....it will just happen. "wake up" is what I titled the message, and used ephesians 5:8-14. For you were once in darkness, but now are children of light, so live as children of light.
