Superbad. Superdad.
In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house concealing a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, Gru is planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.

I am using this clip to show how characters can change over time. Gru's intention to adopt the girls was sinister, however he changed and grew to genuinally care about them. I am going to show him reading a bed time story that he wrote for the girls to show that change.

I'm using this as an opener on God's Laws - the spirit of the law vs. the letter of the law

I'm using this clip to teach children what God the Father is NOT like. God has rules but they are because He loves us and they are for our own good. I'm using 1 John 5:1-3 as a reference. If we love God, then we will keep His commands. And His commands are not burdensome.

Great warmer up for how not to run a Childrens Ministry. Remember, they are kids and need sensible rules and adults need to be fun as well!
