Their innocence. Their heritage. Their lives. Nothing would be spared in the fight for their freedom.
Based on the letters of Colonel Robert G. Shaw. Shaw was an officer in the Federal Army during the American Civil War who volunteered to lead the first company of black soldiers. Shaw was forced to deal with the prejudices of both the enemy (who had orders to kill commanding officers of blacks), and of his own fellow officers.
MPAA: Rated R for strong war violence and some language.

A show of true leadership. This happened many times in the civil rights era where whites took the first step in making a difference. Which was the first sign segregation was coming down. Where are we today, when discrimination is easily hid behind the cloak of business suits, positions of power, and on golf courses? Where are the true leaders willing to step up and stand out for the less fortunate?
